My Continuing Drive for The Presidency

So I posted earlier what my first commercial would be if I ran for President.

Let me move on to more important stuff. What is my platform? What would I like to accomplish as President? I am going to list a few. I am also going to follow that up with an incredible quote that would sum up my Presidency. Then ask if you have any specific questions, please feel free to right them in a comment. I will gladly share my feelings on what I as President could, should and would do.

Domestic Policy:

This is where I would enact the greatest change and biggest benefits to the citizens of the United States of America.

1) I will not rest until The Fair Tax Act is passed.

2) I will continue this public economic coup by pulling control of the Dollar from the Federal Reserve, putting as back on the gold standard, and allowing savings to dictate interest rates and not some independent group of people who's interests are completely unknown to the American people.

3) To finish of the economic front of my domestic policy, I would dissolve all federal agency that compete with the private sector, (except in the cases where the constitution permits)

After the economic portion of my platform is moving. I will begin to move to the radical reduction in size and scope of the federal government.

1) I would reduce the number of Departments currently in use by the federal government. This will be accomplished by first merging several Departments, and having some enveloped into others.

2) I would eliminate any government funding that is not completely accepted by the Constitution.

Foreign Policy:

I am not going to pretend to know all the workings of every country throughout the world. I will however completely acknowledge the fact, there are people that hate out country. And no matter what we do there always will be. (You can not please all the people, all the time).

That being said, I will continue to show the world that the United States of America will completely and without hesitation defend our land, our allies and our interests no matter where or what they may be.

I will politely pull the United States of America out of the completely inept and non-working United Nations. Giving them four years to relocate outside the borders of the United States.

I will not be forced into using the US military as the worlds policy force. The US Armed Forces will be deployed only in the defense our land, our allies and our interests.

That covers the basics of my platform. As I said previously feel free to post any questions I will be happy to answer them. In short I believe in the power of the people to make decisions for themselves. I believe in limited government. I believe we are a singular part of this planet, that can't stand alone but also can not join everyone.

"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is `needed' before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents 'interests,' I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can.” [Barry Goldwater]

He couldn't have defined my beliefs any better.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

On God and Existence

Thanks Jerry Prigmore(a facebook friend) for sharing this with us.

I believe in a reality, an existence, that is too big for me to fully see with my finite vision, fully perceive with my finite senses, fully measure with the impressive but finite tools at my disposal, fully grasp with my finite intellect, or fully conceive with my finite imagination. Yet I have been ridiculed for my belief in God by equally finite people who are confident in their ability to know and state categorically that there is no infinite and no God, although it is impossible to do so. They are like a man cut out of a sheet of notebook paper who tells his fellow two-dimensional paper people that to talk of other non-scientifically proveable dimensions and of a three-dimensional world inhabited by large, multicolored, three-dimensional beings who wear shoes and play basketball and eat tacos is foolish and even dangerous, and that only the ignorant and superstitious do so.

To try to understand existence with no reference point outside of that which is observable is like trying to lift oneself off the ground by standing on a rope on the floor with both feet and then pulling up on the rope with both hands. As Francis Schaeffer wrote in The God Who is There, to try to derive meaning for man with only man as a starting point is like wandering along the wall of a round, featureless, pitch-black room without windows or doors. They confidently deny the existence of the infinite God without understanding the meaning of finitum non capax infinitum - the finite cannot contain (or grasp) the infinite.

Corporate Taxes, and Job Creation

CORPORATE TAXES

I may have done a post on this previously, but it never gets told enough.

Who exactly pays Corporate Taxes? These are the taxes the government; Local, State and Federal; impose upon corporations and businesses both large and small.

So I ask again, who pays these taxes? The first answer most people conclude is The corporation or business that is being charged those taxes. But, where do they get their money to pay those taxes? They get it from the consumer of the goods or services they provide. When the price of being in business goes up, whether it be an increase in manufacturing costs, and increase in labor costs, or even an increase in regulatory or taxation costs, these corporations and business pass the expense on to the consumer.

So please stop crying for more corporate taxes. I pay enough for the goods and services I purchase already.

JOB CREATION

I have been hearing a lot lately about the government creating jobs. I became curious, How exactly does the government create jobs? I went even deeper, How are jobs created?

Jobs are created when a demand for a good or service out paces the production or availability of the particular good or service. Which causes the manufacturer or provider of those goods or services to find ways to narrow the gap between supply and demand. The quickest and typically easiest way is to hire more employees, to create more goods or to provide more service. That is job creation.

Now that we know how jobs are created, How can the government do this? What goods or services does the government provide? How can they create a gap between the supply and the demand? Thus creating a need for job creation.

Lets answer the first part. What goods or service does the government provide? Well thankfully the government doesn't provide any goods. so that narrows are search to what services does the government supply.

Well if we read the Constitution:

Establish Justice: The government runs the courts. How can more jobs be created there? More criminals, more civil suits.
Insure Domestic Tranquility: Keep our streets safe from crime. How can more jobs be created there? More crime.
Provide for the common defense: Military. How can more jobs be created there? More wars.
Promote the general welfare: The health and financial security of the people. How can we create more jobs there? More people lose their current jobs, More people get sick.
Secure the blessing of liberty: Stay free. I really don't think this something the government does, and is more in line of what the government doesn't. So this would be a job for the government that would actually require less jobs to do better.

So now after we figure out what the government provides, and how jobs are created. Do we really want to live in a country where the government is the ones creating jobs. More crime, More Criminals, More War, More Sick and More Poor.

The Best and only true job creation comes from the private sector. The same corporations and businesses that are being asked to pay more in taxes.

Who Is Creating Jobs?

My First Commercial.

So I came up with my idea for my first commercial when I run for President.

Half body shot of me standing in front of a huge chart showing the US Budget over the past 20 years.

Me: During the last Presidential campaign Barrack Obama spoke of trimming the Federal Budget with a scalpel, while John McCain wanted to use a hatchet. Well i feel that drastic times call for far more drastic measures.

The camera zooms out while I put on safety goggles, slowly revealing a gas powered chainsaw. I pull start it, and shred the budget chart behind me. Once the chart is sufficiently destroyed. I turn off the chainsaw, turn to the camera while lifting up the safety goggles.

Me: I am Jason Schmidt and I approve this message.

*For those serious about a fiscally responsible federal government, you are welcome to use this.

Just because I haven't posted anything for sometime.

So, If you haven't seen or heard me mention it. I have a 300 Disc CD changer and it is about 90% full(only after ridding myself of about 100 CDs i never listen to.)

So every once and awhile i get lost in the past and wonder why I ever listened to a particular band or artist when i realize how simple and mundane their music is to me now. But every so often a true gem from the past jumps out at me. here is a couple. Only the lyrics sorry. I haven't quite figured out how to put sound on my blog.

STEVE TAYLOR - Jesus is for Losers

If I was driven
Driven ahead by some noble ideal
Who took the wheel?
If I was given
Given a glimpse of some glorious road
When was it sold?

So caught up in the chase
I keep forgetting my place

Just as I am
I am stiff-necked and proud
Jesus is for losers
Why do I still play to the crowd?
Just as I am
Pass the compass, please
Jesus is for losers
I'm off about a hundred degrees

If I was groping
Groping around for some ladder to fame
I am ashamed
If I was hoping
Hoping respect would make a sturdy footstool
I am a fool

Bone-weary every climb
Blindsided every time

Just as I am
I am needy and dry
Jesus is for losers
The self-made need not apply
Just as I am
In a desert crawl
Lord, I'm so thirsty
Take me to the waterfall

And if you're certain
Certain your life is some cosmic mistake
Why do you shake?
And if you're certain
Certain that faith is some know-nothing mask
Why do you still ask?

They don't grade here on the curve
We both know what we deserve

Just as you are
Just a wretch like me
Jesus is for losers
Grace from the blood of a tree
Just as we are
At a total loss
Jesus is for losers
Broken at the foot of the cross

Just as I am
Pass the compass, please
Jesus is for losers
I'm off about a hundred degrees
Just as I am
In a desert crawl
Lord, I'm so thirsty
Take me to the waterfall

Collective Soul - Blame

You pushed me down
For all the world to see
I guess that's your price
For my loyalty
So while you're tasting sin
And swallowing pain
Don't look at me
To take your blame

When you're willing to render
To the guilt you concede
When truth is your reason
Then lay that blame on me
When you unveil a conscience
And with peace you agree
When love is your constant
Then lay that blame on me

You lay me out
In hopes that I'd wilt away
But strength rained down
And love provided shade
So while the pageant of lies
Still glow from your tongue
Don't blame me for
Your Kingdom Come

When you're willing to render
To the guilt you concede
When truth is your reason
Then lay that blame on me
When you unveil a conscience
And with peace you agree
When love is your constant
Then lay that blame on me

Question your answers
Truth has no anger
Gather up your words
Redemption now offered

A couple random thoughts

Debt Day.

For those not quite in the know. Debt Day is the day that the federal government theoretically has spent all the money they collect for this years budget, therefore meaning that every dollar spent from that day forward adds to the national debt.

The federal governments fiscal year runs from Oct 1st to Sept 30th. which in my opinion is very intriguing consider: Our individual tax bill is accumulated from Jan 1st to Dec 31st, and our payment becomes official on April 15th.

Tale of the tape on Debt Day.

1998 - We had no debt day. We ended the fiscal year with a surplus.
1999 - We had no debt day. We ended the fiscal year with a surplus.
2000 - We had no debt day. We ended the fiscal year with a surplus.
2001 - We had no debt day. We ended the fiscal year with a surplus.
2002 - Debt Day was Sept 2nd. (only 28 days from surplus)
2003 - Debt Day was July 29th. (Two months from surplus)
2004 - Debt Day was July 27th. (Two months from surplus)
2005 - Debt Day was Aug. 14th. (A month and half from surplus)
2006 - Debt Day was Aug. 27th. (33 days from surplus)
2007 - Debt Day was Aug. 9th. (Almost two months from surplus)
2008 - Debt Day was Aug. 5th. (Almost two months from surplus)
2009 - Debt Day was April 26th (WHAT THE _____?)

Interesting point: Republicans held one or both, legislative and/or executive branch until 2009. Maybe there is something to the fiscally responsible republican party.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to buy every liberal a T-shirt that reads. "All I ever needed to know, I learned in Kindergarten." Because every time I try to explain to them that outrageous government spending isn't good for the country, they come back with 'Well, Bush started it."

So I have started to get confused by this. Since their party is just merely continuing a policy set forth by the Bush administration are they saying that they believe the Bush administration was right about something, or are they saying Bush was wrong to start spending money, but because he was wrong first that means they can be wrong without blame?

Winners and Losers

I remember growing up playing sports and games. The first thing I remember about this time was always being one of the last kids picked. (Maybe I shouldn't have grown up so stable.) The second thing I remember was there were winners and losers. (I was a party to both) The next thing that I remember is what i am going to write about today.

As a younger person I recall people losing a game and suddenly wanting to change the rules to make the game closer or even reverse the current rankings. Now if games are a predeccor to adult life. We play them to learn about rules and winning. We also play them to learn how to accept defeat and try again. But I have seen recently in the adult world a trend of wanting to change the rules because one side is losing.

A few years ago a man wanted to challenge the right-wing stranglehold on radio commentary. He created his own network Air-America. With a name like that and hosts with big names and huge followings this endeavor was too good to fail. Unfortunately it did fail. In the game of free airwaves, not enough people wanted to listen.

Left-wing talk radio was losing the battle. So what is the answer. Most people after a failure such as this would follow one of two choices. They would accept defeat and move on, either to another media or to something totally different. or They would try again, hopefully with a new and better plan.

But some on the left have learned the wrong lesson(or maybe never learned the lessons at all) while playing games growing up. If we are losing lets just change the rules. This rule change is called the "Fairness Doctrine". It is a rule change that will force station owners to air shows that no one in there listening demographic want to hear.

How can I be so certain that these shows are not wanted. Because capitalism works.

In this weeks news I read about more newspapers folding or retooling. Is this a bad thing. I am surprised environmentalist aren't cheering this, other than the majority of the papers are advocates of theirs. With more and more print media failing, this means less and less deforestation to make paper. But are these papers the exception to their rule.

The move away from print media may be a subject of a future blog.

In the future when someone is losing, be wary and vigilant in making sure they don't change the rules.

Statistics and Facts

I have have had it with statistics and facts. So few people have any clue how to use them or in some cases what they really are.

I am tired of people quoting statistics that the not only can not cite from where they acquired them but can't even explain their relevancy to there argument.

--- People born in the 21st century have it so much better than those born in the 20th century. Of those born after 1900 less then 10% still live today, yet over 90% of those born after 2000 are alive and well. ---

Wow that is an interesting statistic, but really has no reference that proves my initial point. But wow, doesn't it sound cool!!!

Often times a statistics relevance may be good but the use to defend your point isn't strong.

--- You drive carefully always, statistics prove that the majority of accidents happen within 5 minutes of your home. ---

This is one of my favorites, because although the fact backs up the assumption you should always drive carefully. It does not relate the entire story. Because statistics prove you do the majority of your driving within 5 minutes from your home. It would only be basic thinking to conclude the majority of accidents will occur where you do the majority of your driving. It would be almost as bad to say. The majority of car accidents involve cars. Or Pedestrians that walk in the middle of the road are more likely to be hit by traffic then those that walk on the sidewalk.

And yet these statistics have some semblance of truth, for none of them have I nor can I back up with any study or research I have done. This is what irritates me the most. People spouting out facts and statistics without quoting the source or the research. This leads to not only incorrect facts and statistics but often times purely fictitious ones.

--- 95% of High School Drop outs are Democrats ---

You figure out where that one fits in my rant.

Congressional Approval?

With Congress' Approval rating still sitting south of acceptable one begins to wonder why, we the people, continue to vote the same people in again and again.

Do we believe it is the other guy, it can't be our guy that is messing things up. Let me pull back the current and reveal the truth. It is our guy, it is your guy. There are very few true congressmen.

It is my opinion that it is the job of your congressmen to make sure you, as their constituent, don't get screwed, it is not their responsibility to assure you get the biggest slice of the pie the can cut out for you.

I would say,and this is not factually backed, just my pure speculation, there is probably 1-5% of congress that truly takes their job seriously and do their job as it is written in the constitution. that means 1 to 5 Senators, and 4 to 22 Representatives that are looking out for America and it's future and not just the next election or payday.

I am an Extremist!?!

I have learned recently, that because I don't completely agree with the policies the present administration is setting into place, I am an extremist. I am not certain if my meager blog has yet caught the eye of federal officers, but I am sure it will.

What is my crime for being label as such. Well, I believe in the US Constitution. I believe it was set forth to separate powers between the National Government and the individual States. I believe the current administration is bulldozing that separation, by forcing States, Local Municipalities, and even Private Businesses to adhere to the rule of the federal government.

So I am an extremist, a radical, just like the country's founders. I feel honored to be in such company.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can the American people be so lost in this economic downturn to miss this. Our government wants to spend nearly $4trillion dollars next year and our president is parading around a $100 million cut like it is something special. Don't get me wrong if the President can cut $100 million from his budget, I am all for it. Just don't brag about it like you are doing something amazing.

Seriously, let me try that. I think in my budget next year I am going spend $40,000. Oh wait, I only make $25,000 a year, so that isn't going to add up. Lets readjust my budget. $39,999.99, Let's see if that works.

Phrases Defined...(by me)

Nuclear Winter

I remember hearing and reading this phrase quite a bit when I was growing up. The environmental extremists used it to describe what all the pollution was doing to our weather. Too much smoke and debris was being thrown into our skies, preventing the suns light and heat from entering, causing a cooling effect on the earth.

This was only 15 to 20 years ago.

But now for some reason the same pollutants that seemed to cause global cooling are now causing global warming. I wonder how long until we go back to cooling or maybe these radicals will see the light and discover that these things happen in cycles and start to claim the cycles aren't happening. "Oh No, we have to stop global weather stagnation, The average temperature of the earth hasn't changed we must stop companies from producing stuff."

-Global Weather Stagnation- the next environmental wacko outcry.

Pursuit of Happiness

One of the unalienable rights endowed by our Creator, or so says The Declaration of Independence. But what does it mean? How do we define it? Recently, There has been ramblings that it means everyone has the right to be happy. But as you can imagine, I don't agree. For the phrase is not simply "Happiness". but the "PURSUIT of Happiness".

So what makes you happy? You have the right to pursue that. There is no guarantee you will ever achieve it. That part is not endowed by our Creator. Only the pursuit. Unfortunately for many, pursuit requires action of their own. You must actually do something to gain that happiness you long for. It will not be provided for you, only the freedom to pursue it.

Supply-Side Economics - Trickle-Down Economics - Capitalism

These are all one in the same. Lately they have been demonized. They are held up as, what has caused the recent economic downturn. Cries for more regulation, as so called facts of capitalism failure run rampant. I would like to know, when has America fully embraced true capitalism. Every time I turn around someone, somewhere is putting a restriction on how someone else runs their business. You can not have true capitalism when there is any regulation. If capitalism is a failed system, I will freely admit it, but only after it is truly tried. We can not serve two masters.

Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

No words in any American document have been misquoted or misrepresented then these. Often quoted as "separation of church and state" This phrase does not prohibit anyone from being religious, on the contrary this protects those that choose to be religious. It does not say our government officials can not abide by their religion, it only states those officials can not force anyone else to practice them. As a matter of fact, it actually protects their right to ask people to practice them. It also protects the right of those that wish not to.

War on Drugs - War on Terror

These two phrases although mean two totally different things, have one major thing in common. How does someone fight Drugs/Terror? Drugs are not a street thug, but a substance that's sole purpose is to distort one's reality and terror is not an enemy combatant, but rather a means and/or an ends to achieving a fearful response. Both have existed since the dawn of civilization(probably before) and will continue to exist until it's end(probably after).

So instead of waging war on drugs/terror, could we possibly start fighting their proprietors.

More Lyrics

This time three songs with a similar message.

In The Light - DC Talk

I keep trying to find a life
On my own, apart from you
I am the king of excuses
Ive got one for every selfish thing I do

Whats going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That Im still a man in need of a savior

(chorus)
I wanna be in the light
As you are in the light
I wanna shine like the stars in the heavens
Oh, lord be my light and be my salvation
Cause all I want is to be in the light
All I want is to be in the light

The disease of self runs through my blood
Its a cancer fatal to my soul
Every attempt on my behalf has failed
To bring this sickness under control

Tell me, whats going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That Im still a man in need of a savior

(repeat chorus)

Honesty becomes me
[there's nothing left to lose]
The secrets that did run me
[in your presence are defused]
Pride has no position
[and riches have no worth]
The fame that once did cover me
[has been sentenced to this earth]
Has been sentenced to this earth

Tell me, whats going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That Im still a man in need of a savior

(repeat chorus 2x)

[there's no other place that I want to be]
[no other place that I can see]
[a place to be that's just right]
[someday Im gonna be in the light]
[you are in the light]
[that's where I need to be]
[that's right where I need to be]

Less Of Me - Grammatrain

Seems like I am always in the way
Of who I am trying to obey
I need something to make me understand
I don't live when I live by my own hand

Is everyone staring holes in me
Sometimes I wish that me they could not see
Like a snowfall dropping down in June
I do what I know I should not do

All I want is to be free
I need so much less of me

All my problems exist and I still say
I believe in who only is the way

Undo Me - Jennifer Knapp

Papa, I think I messed up again
Was it something I did?
Was it something I said?
I don't mean to do you wrong
It's just the way of human nature!

Sister, I know I let you down
I can tell by the fact
You never come around
You don't have to say a thing
I can tell by your eyes
Exactly what you mean

That it's time
To get down on my knees and pray
"Lord, undo me!"
Put away my flesh and bone
'Til You own this spirit through me Lord,
Undo me.

Mama, I know I made you cry
But I never meant to hurt you
I never meant to lie
While the world shook its head in shame
I let you take the blame

Brother, I know you labored
So hard to please
But I cut you down
And I left you on your knees
Well I know it must be

Time to get down on my knees and pray
"Lord, undo me!"
Put away my flesh and bone
'Til You own this spirit through me Lord

I am wanting, needing, guilty and greedy
Unrighteous, unholy; undo me. Undo me!

Abba Father You must wonder why
More times than Peter I have denied.
Three nails and a cross to prove
I owe my life eternally to you!

And it's time
To get down on my knees and pray
"Lord, undo me!"
Put away my flesh and bone
'Til You own this spirit through me Lord,
Undo me

Too Smart...

"Too smart to believe what you are saying"

I heard this quote the other night, on a late night talk show. I have heard these words many times. Every time I hear them I feel more confused. When said, they pronounce the feeling that someone is a charlatan. Why would someone blatantly say something they did not believe to be true?

To sell something, that is the typical, if most general answer. But, that raises another question, how long can you sell something that never lives up to your word? If the "Pocket Fisherman" did not actually catch any fish, would Ron Popeil be nearly as successful as he is today. Or if there is no life expectancy on untruths, would he not Still be selling the original GLH?

So if these talk show host and commentators do not truly believe what they are saying wouldn't people eventually figure it out and stop buying what they are selling.

The funniest part about the other nights rendition, of these words. It was followed by the kicker, or so called proof to the assertion, quoting one of these so called charlatans, "If you believe what I say as gospel, you are an idiot" If this statement is to convey that the speaker believes what he says is wrong, then why would they even say it. What the speaker of those words is truly trying to convey is the necessity to learn the truth yourself. Do not take my, the speaker, or anyone's word, at face value. Always seek the truth for yourself. If you do not, then you are an idiot.

Cheers, to Daniel Hannan

Daniel Hannan, who represents South East England in the European Parliament. Had some very harsh words for his Prime Minister. I wonder where are the Americans that will stand up and speak to President Obama of similar wrong-doings.

"Prime Minister, I see you've already mastered the essential craft of the European politician, namely the ability to say one thing in this chamber and a very different thing to your home electorate. You've spoken here about free trade, and amen to that. Who would have guessed, listening to you just now, that you were the author of the phrase 'British jobs for British workers' and that you have subsidized, where you have not nationalized outright, swathes of our economy, including the car industry and many of the banks? Perhaps you would have more moral authority in this house if your actions matched your words. Perhaps you would have more legitimacy in the councils of the world if the United Kingdom were not going into this recession in the worst condition of any G-20 country.

"The truth, Prime Minister, is that you have run out of our money. The country as a whole is now in negative equity. Every British child is born owing around 20,000 pounds. Servicing the interest on that debt is going to cost more than educating the child. Now, once again today you try to spread the blame around; you spoke about an international recession, international crisis. Well, it is true that we are all sailing together into the squalls. But not every vessel in the convoy is in the same dilapidated condition. Other ships used the good years to caulk their hulls and clear their rigging -- in other words, to pay off debt. But you used the good years to raise borrowing yet further. As a consequence, under your captaincy, our hull is pressed deep into the waterline under the accumulated weight of your debt. We are now running a deficit that touches 10 percent of GDP, an almost unbelievable figure -- more than Pakistan, more than Hungary, countries where the IMF have already been called in. Now, it's not that you're not apologizing; like everyone else, I have long accepted that you're pathologically incapable of accepting responsibility for these things. It's that you're carrying on, willfully worsening our situation, wantonly spending what little we have left. … In the last 12 months, 100,000 private-sector jobs have been lost, and yet you created 30,000 public-sector jobs.

"Prime Minister, you cannot carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecedented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt. And when you repeat, in that wooden and perfunctory way, that our situation is better than others, that we're 'well-placed to weather the storm,' I have to tell you (that) you sound like a Brezhnev-era apparatchik giving the party line. You know and we know -- and you know that we know -- that it's nonsense!"

Thank you Mr. Hannan for speaking truth in fiscal responsibility, to ourselves, our children, and our children's children.

Also a great thanks to Larry Elder for bringing this to my attention.

Echo of the Past

So the recent outrage I keep hearing about is these Bonuses some AIG executives received. Let me first say, I am not outraged. Now that that is out of the way, let me explain why.

While listening to all this outrage from regular folk, to congresspersons, to television personalities, to the President himself, I get this deep feeling of Deja Vu. I am certain i have heard this cry before.

I decided to do some digging, when have I heard the outcries about people not spending the taxpayers money wisely. Then it hit me like a 800 billion ton brick. That's right there were a lot of taxpayers that were outraged that our government would hand out our hard earn money to companies that can't even support themselves.

But that still didn't seem to put an end to my feelings. So I dug deeper. that is when it it hit me like an avalanche. Oh my, people have been complaining for years about the amount of money we as taxpayers give to a government that continues to fail us.

So please people the next time you want to complain about some company that gives a bonus to some idiot that really doesn't deserve it. Look in the mirror and think to yourself. "Is the person I help put in charge, really doing the right things with the money I give them?"

The 912 Project

A new link on my sidebar. The 912 Project

9 Principles

1. America Is Good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
God “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the external rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.” from George Washington’s first Inaugural address.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
Honesty “I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider to be the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” George Washington

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
Marriage/Family “It is in the love of one’s family only that heartfelt happiness is know. By a law of our nature, we cannot be happy without the endearing connections of a family.” Thomas Jefferson

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
Justice “I deem one of the essential principles of our government… equal and exact justice to all men of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political.” Thomas Jefferson

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
Life, Liberty, & The Pursuit of Happiness “Everyone has a natural right to choose that vocation in life which he thinks most likely to give him comfortable subsistence.” Thomas Jefferson

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
Charity “It is not everyone who asketh that deserveth charity; all however, are worth of the inquiry or the deserving may suffer.” George Washington

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
On your right to disagree “In a free and republican government, you cannot restrain the voice of the multitude; every man will speak as he thinks, or more properly without thinking.” George Washington

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
Who works for whom? “I consider the people who constitute a society or a nation as the source of all authority in that nation.” Thomas Jefferson

I want to help the President

Ok, I have finally heard enough about this wanting the President to fail. So I personally have decided, if I am unable to make attempts to help the President fail, then I should look at what his ultimate goal is and see what I can do help him achieve it.

Ten Thing The President Must Do To Destroy America

1) Increase the size of government as a replacement of the private sector - It is not just good enough to enlarge the government, but you also must shrink the private sector. This can be done by increasing Federal spending to a point above 50% of the Gross Domestic Product.*

2) Remove any and all obligations to follow any rules you set forth and further down the line any rules that have been previously set(also known as Laws).*

3) Begin to remove any possibility of alternative forms of education. i.e. Private and Home Schooling. To allow the populace into the non-education, forced indoctrination of the government controlled public schooling.*

4) With a great number of Americans that still believe we have enemies and allies, it is important to assure that those enemies will be appeased, at the least, if not also rewarded. While at the same time, insult and hold our allies in contempt.*

5) Make it less attractive and harder to be Charitable. The greatest attribute of Americans is our propensity to give. You take that away and you begin to erode the moral fiber.*

6) Continue with the erosion of the American moral fiber by devaluing human life.*

7) Establish a faith-base that we must abide by. I would suggest using bogus science. Science is something most people trust, so if you claim it to be factually true, you will not have to defend your facts. And when someone asks you defend your facts. You discredit them with blasphemy.*

8) Create division between the American people. Unfortunately using Race, Gender, Color or Creed, would be too easily seen through. I suggest using economic stature. This has proven effective in the past.*

9) Control the money. If it is money that makes the world go around, then it is important to control the money. I suggest setting up rules that those controlling the money must, but in the end can't, follow. And then as retribution for not following the rules sweep-in and absorb the control.*

10) Start passing laws that contradict the founding fathers version of the Constitution. Dissolving the electoral process, Presidential term limits. Grant unauthorized powers to the federal government, to the President.*

I hope the President reads this and takes my help seriously. I truly do not want MY PRESIDENT to fail.

*Note for those that noticed, some of my list were marked. These are pieces of my list our President has already began to work on. I just wanted to make note of those that he has already acted on. Imagine, He has done this in less then 2 months. He is well on his way to achieving his goal.

Watchmen

I went to see Watchmen on Friday. It was incredible, but I left the theater trying to figure out if it was too long, or not long enough.

First at 2 hours and 45 minutes, one could hardly say it was not long enough. but i felt the ending was rushed. like they had all this great backstory entwined into the movie and then, "oh by the way, here is the end to the story we started." However, I really don't think you could have made the movie any shorter and still been able to keep those that have never read the graphic novel entertained.

So my conclusion is, Watchmen should have been a mini-series rather than a movie.

There are Intelligent Law Students

Thanks to Neal Boortz.

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters,

We've stuck together since the late 1950s, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know that we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and just will not ever agree on what's right. So let's just end it right now while we can do it on friendly terms. We can smile, shake hands, chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and each go our own way.

So here's a model separation agreement.

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by land mass, each taking a portion. That's going to be the difficult part, but I'm sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy. Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate taste. We don't like redistributive taxes so you can have those. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. And since you hate guns and you hate war, we'll take the firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. But you are going to be responsible for finding a biodiesel vehicle big enough to haul them around.

We'll keep the capitalism, the greedy corporations, the pharmaceutical companies; we will keep Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have the homeless, the homeboys, the hippies and illegal aliens. We will keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, the greedy CEOS and all of the rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and we'll let you have NBC and Hollywood.

You can be nice to Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer anybody that threatens us. You can have the peaceniks and the war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we will provide them with security. You won't have to worry about it. We will keep our Judeo-Christian values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley Maclaine. You can also have the UN, but we will no longer pay the bill.

We will keep the SUVs, the pickup trucks and the oversize luxury cars. You can have the compacts, the subcompacts and every Subaru station wagon you can find. You can give everybody healthcare, if you can find any practicing doctors. We will continue to believe that healthcare is a privilege and not a right. We will keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and the national anthem, and I am sure you will be happy to substitute in their place "Imagine." I'd like to teach the world to sing "Kumbaya" or "We are the world." We will practice trickle-down economics and you can give trickle-up poverty your best shot. And since it so offends you, we will keep our history, our name and our flag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots. And if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the friendly spirit of parting, I'll bet you ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in about 15 years.

Sincerely,

John J Wall

Law student and an American

P.S. You can also have Barbara Streisand and Jane Fonda

Old Adages

Thomas Sowell takes a look at a couple of old adages.

Is Talk Cheap? - Thomas Sowell

Now I haven't had much to say here lately about what is going on. I felt it is was best to hold judgment for a bit. My intentions were to see what Obama and the his Minions in congress would do with the first 100 days of his administration. Unfortunately I could not hold out that long.

I recently read an article in the Star Tribune(consistently one of the most liberally biased papers in the nation) They showed a chart with the budget deficits over the past six presidency, remarking that under Clinton we had the only surplus and under Obama we will have the greatest deficit. The two things that surprised me in this article. First although they pointed out the greatest deficit will be under Obama they didn't seem to think this was any serious problem. Second, the article failed to completely recognize that Newt Gingrich, the Republic lead congress, and the 'Contract for America' had any part in those surpluses.

The recent activity in Washington, D.C. is exactly what I warned anyone who would listen about. Giving all the power to one political party(especially to those that believe in party over country) is a huge mistake. I will stand behind this statement, no matter what the party.

If you look at just the recent history. Say the last six Presidencies, You will notice our best economic growth and most stable federal government have come when there has been a balance of power between the parties. Reagan with a democratic led congress dug us out of the horendous fiasco the former administration had left. Clinton with the Republican led congress manage to balance the federal budget for the first time in 120 years.

Personally, I would love to see members of congress to forgo their party lines and start to look at how their actions effect all of America. What is good for New York, is not always good for North Dakota, and the same holds true the other way.

Necessity will breed innovation. If the government would stop, providing everything we supposedly want. I assure you, we as a people(All makes, kinds, colors and creeds) would figure out a way to provide it for ourselves.

I can not freely admit, the stock from which we came has been diluted beyond recognition. I believe completely, that the independent spirit still resides in all of us. The spirit that would push us not to just survive but to strive for more, and better lives for our future generations. This spirit is what brought most of us to America, a chance at freedom. It is the same spirit that brings many more to our great country. Let that spirit free, let it be what it wants to be, Innovative, Inventive, Ingenious. Do not cast out that spirit as an unneeded entity. Do not disregard that spirit as an old time philosophy. Let the spirit do what it came here to do, take care of itself and the ones it loves(Family, Friends and Neighbors).

Fear, Hope, and the Same Ol' Song and Dance

Our new president was elected because he tried to convey a message of hope and seperate himself from his opponent, claiming he promoted a message of fear. Now, every time I hear the President speak, I seem to hear about the catastrophe that awaits if we don't do exactly what he says. Now I could be misinterpreting his grand extortion, with just plain fear-mongering, but either way, it isn't the finest face a President can put forth. It all becomes politics as usual.

Speaking of the same ol' song and dance; I personally, was very critical of the Bushes administration ever enlarging of the federal government. It was often noted, in the eight years under Bush, the size and scope of the Federal government grew larger than any other time in recent history. The Obama Administration 'hopes' to eclipse that, and "The New Deal" as well.

So in all his attempts to portray himself as the Anti-Bush, once in office Obama seems to govern with the same demeanor. Promote your agenda with fear, and make the government even larger.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a side note, What is it wrong with Democrats that can not seem to debate with their true opponent. During the campaign, it appeared that every Democrat, no matter what position they were seeking, was running against George W. Bush. And now it seems they want to argue with Rush Limbaugh, a man that has no political office. Can I give the democrats a word of advice. If you want to destroy the republican party don't continue to point out the beacon of light, the one true, nationally heard, conservative voice. It will only draw more interest to what he has to say, and people may find they agree with more of what he says then you claim they should.

More Lyrics

No rhyme or reason to these lyrics other than they have been running through my head.

First off I was asked a pretty serious question by a good friend. And these lyrics came to my head.

Hold Me Now - Jennifer Knapp

From glass alabaster she poured out the depth of her soul
O foot of Christ would you wait if her harlotries known?
Falls a tear to darken the dirt
Of humblest offerings to forgive the hurt
She is strong enough to stand in your love
I can hear her say....

I'm weak
I'm poor
I'm broken, Lord
But I'm your's
Hold me now, hold me now

Let he without sin cast the first stone if you will
To say that my bride isn't worth half the blood that I've spilled
Point your fingers and laugh if you choose
To say my beloved is borrowed and used
She is strong enough to stand in My love
I can hear her say....

I'm weak
I'm poor
I'm broken, Lord
But I'm your's
Hold me now, hold me now

Second a song for all those I love that have gone before me.

You're Gone, I'm Here - Precious Death

You're cold and I'm here talking to myself,
'Bout you and everybody else.
My words are hard to swallow,
But here's a few that you can take with you

It's killing me..but one day you'll be seeing me. Yeah!

You're gone and I'm here
and I think about the things I never told you.
While you were on planet, right beside me.
You're gone and I'm here now
I guess I waited, one too long, for tomorrow.

I haven't slept for two days,
And I don't think I'll sleep tomorrow
You're gone and I'm here
Could be twenty years before I follow you to glory
Where one day you'll be seeing me. Yeah!

You're gone and I'm here
and I think about the things I never told you.
While you were on planet, right beside me.
You're gone and I'm here now
I guess I waited, one too long, for tomorrow.

Last Song is mainly a commentary on where we are at as a society.

Lost the Plot - Newsboys

When you come back again
would you bring me something from the fridge?
Heard a rumour that the end is near
but I just got comfortable here.
sigh.
Let's be blunt.
I'm a little distracted.
What do you want?

Headaches and bad faith
are all that I've got.
First I misplaced the ending
then I lost the plot.

Out among the free-range sheep
while the big birds sharpen their claws.
For a time we stuck with the shepherd
but you wouldn't play Santa Claus.

sigh.
Let's be blunt.
We're a little distracted.
What do you want?

Once we could follow,
now we cannot.
You would not fit our image,
so we lost the plot.

Once we could hear you,
now our senses are shot.
We've forgotten our first love.
We have lost the plot.

When I saw you for the first time
you were hanging with a thief
And I knew my hands were dirty,
and I dropped my gaze.
Then you said I was forgiven
and you welcomed me with laughter.
I was happy ever after.
I was counting the days
when you'd come back again.
we'll be waiting for you
When you comin' back again?
we'll be ready for you
Maybe we'll wake up when...
maybe we'll wake up when
you come back again.

lies.
Let's be blunt.
We're a little unfaithful.
What do you want?

Are you still listening?
`Cause we're obviously not
We've forgotten our first love
We have lost the plot.

And why are you still calling?
You forgave, we forgot.
We're such experts at stalling
that we've lost the plot.
lost the plot

When you come back again
would you bring me something from the fridge?
Heard a rumour that the end is near
but I just got comfortable here.

Political Parties

For many years i have been on the side of our first President, when it comes to political parties. They are dangerous and they serve no purpose but to divide a union.

Michael S. Adams gives a reasonable account on the reason to maintain a separation of political parties.

Exhuming James Madison - Mike S Adams

Spend All You Like, We'll Make More

So when your a government and you start to spend more money then you take in, what do you do? That's right you just print more. But what does that do. Someone new to my list of people I pay attention to. Glenn Beck tries to explain.

Somthing Completely Different

Rate the lyrics - Tell me what you think of the song and the lyrics.

Far Away - Nickelback

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance, Just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
'Cause you know, you know, you know

[CHORUS]
I love you, I've loved you all along
And I miss you, far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me and you'll never go
Stop breathing if I don't see you anymore

On my knees, I'll ask
Last chance for one last dance
Cause with you, I'd withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I'd give it all, I'd give for us
Give anything but I won't give up
Cause you know, you know, you know

[CHORUS]

So far away
(So far away)
far away for far too long
So far away
(So far away)
For far away for far too long
But you know, you know, you know

I wanted, I wanted you to stay
Cause I needed, I need to hear you say
That I love you
(I love you)
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
(and I forgive you)
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing, Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it, Hold on to me never let me go
Keep breathing, Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it, Hold on to me never let me go
(Keep breathing)
Hold on to me never let me go
(Keep breathing)
Hold on to me never let me go

So Far Away - Staind

This is my life
It's not what it was before
All these feelings I've shared
And these are my dreams
That I'd never lived before
Somebody shake me 'cause I
I must be sleeping

Chorus
Now that we're here, it's so far away
All the struggle we thought was in vain
And all the mistakes, one life contained
They all finally start to go away
And now that we're here, it's so far away
And I feel like I can face the day
And I can forgive
And I'm not ashamed to be
The Person that I am today

These are my words
That I've never said before
I think I'm doing okay
And this is the smile
That I've never shown before
Somebody shake me 'cause I
I must be sleeping

Chorus (altered)
Now that we're here, it's so far away
All the struggle we thought was in vain
And all the mistakes, one life contained
They all finally start to go away
And now that we're here, it's so far away
And I feel like I can face the day
I can forgive
And I'm not ashamed to be
The Person that I am today

I'm so afraid of waking
Please don't shake me
Afraid of waking
Please don't shake me

Chorus

So Far Away - Dire Straits

Here I am again in this mean old town
And you're so far away from me
And where are you when the sun goes down
You're so far away from me

So far away from me
So far I just cant see
So far away from me
You're so far away from me

I'm tired of being in love and being all alone
When you're so far away from me
I'm tired of making out on the telephone
And you're so far away from me

So far away from me
So far I just cant see
So far away from me
You're so far away from me

I get so tired when I have to explain
When you're so far away from me
See you been in the sun and Ive been in the rain
And you're so far away from me

So far away from me
So far I just cant see
So far away from me
You're so far away from me

So Far Away(The Catholic Song) - Precious Death

Wake up early, every morning,
Dreams were bad, but that's OKay
Hear the bells from ol' St. Peter's
Call to wash my fears away.
And after all this time, It feels the same
So far away, So far away

Tell me something I don't know
(I'd love to take you home again)
As I walk the longest mile that any man has known
My flesh and bone, the way is stone, my blood atoned
One man alone and lonely.

I tried to tell it, but the world wouldn't listen to me.
The way is brighter than the path that any man can see.
Inspiration, illumination, take the sin from the soul,
Show them total deprivation.

Slow me down, Don't let me walk my way
Somebody said the pain won't be the same as it was yesterday
but after all this time, it feels the same
So far away, So far away.

Where has it gone?

The Shining Light? The City on A hill? The Bastion of Freedom?

The greatest country in the world is slowly melting away.

I ask, What made this country great? Was it the leaders that continue to look after the only thing they care about, their power and their pocketbook? or Was it individuals that created businesses, that created jobs, that created a fortune for not only themselves but many other people?

As more and more control of our public and private life is seized by a corrupt and often times idiotic government, are we now seeing the end.

I do not write this as an attack on any single politician, or even all politicians. I am simply in tears at the wasted greatness our fore-fathers and their fore-fathers granted to us all.

We as a people continue to hand over the keys to a few individuals who continue to prove they have no idea how to drive. When did we go from a government "by the people, for the people." to "Let Mommy Government fix everything." When did we go from "Ask not, what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" to "What have you done for me lately!"

We have slowly turned into a bunch of whining babies, that are not happy unless we are given our allowance, whether we did our chores or not. Being Grounded means, I still get to watch TV, play video games, surf the internet and even chat with my friends. Using various phrasings of the popular child mantra "But Jimmy has one, why can't I!"

If our Great Grandparents could see us now. they would turn us over and give our behinds a good whoopin' Because that is what they did to kids that acted like spoiled brats. And just think they raised what some call the Greatest Generation.

Think on that!

Sports....

Just a bit of Sports for this blog.

So my Vikings superbowl hopes went down the tubes. It was a solid game so i wasn't disapointed in watching it. I only wish now is that Ziggy fires Brad Childress and Hires (no matter that cost) Mike Shanahan. Would love to see Adrian run for 2500 yards.

Utah beat Alabama. Gratz to the Utes.

Thank God for Iowa! If it wasn't for the Hawkeyes the Big Ten would have pitched an O for, in bowl games.

Go Gators. Not that i am a huge fan of either team, but I truly believe Tim Tebow deserved to have his name next to Archie Griffith as the only two time Hiesman Trophy winner.

Predictions for the Superbowl...amended.(as they will most likely be next weekend.)

Panthers, Giants, Chargers and Titans will advance to the conference finals

Giants and Titans will face off in an epic super bowl that will end up being a one-sided affair with the Titans Rolling up a 35-10 lead by half time and coasting to a 45-23 Victory. The real game to watch will be the AFC championship game.

My Thoughts.....

My Thoughts on the past year.

THINGS THAT SURPRISED ME:

Another year without a major terrorist attack on our soil, with no recognition given to the policies or the policy makers that insured it.

Election of our first black president. I believed, until the end of September, that America would not be ready for a black president. (aside: I truly hope and pray that Obama doesn't screw it up for the next generation, I am for the idea of Minority Leadership/Majority Rule, Keeps the system honest. or at least it should)

John McCain's victory in the republican primary. In addition, his choice for Vice President Sarah Palin. There is virtually no reason Mr. McCain belonged on the Presidential Ticket, and Sarah Palin is the the only reason the election wasn't a landslide for the Democrats.

THINGS I WISH SURPRISED ME:

The American populace's continued trust in the Federal Government. Although they continue to squander "OUR" money, we continue to believe that if we just give them more they can fix anything. The government can not guarantee results, until they control the entire system, and we have grave evidence, in recent history, that doesn't work. Also, that those that trust completely in the government and blame Big Corporations for the recent financial melt down, are not up in arms that their trusted Government decided to use the appropriated funds to bailout those Corporations.

The media's continuing move from reporting the actual news to being an editorial conduit for their favorite ____________. (you fill in the blank. Candidate, Cause, Subject, Policy, Referendum, Person, Political Party)

THINGS THAT DID NOT SURPRISE ME:

The success of our Military. Thank you, to all the brave souls that VOLUNTEERED, to defend our country against all enemies FOREIGN and domestic. Keep up the good work and we will bring you home.

The Financial Meltdown. Although many seemed in shock at the events. My only surprise was it did not come sooner(thanks to the trusted federal government in helping hide some of the most heinous number pushing in recent history) Anyone with the "want to know attitude" could see the housing market wasn't going to last. The only proof we had that it was stable was the democrat led congress' continued claim everything was fine.(and i think you know how much I trust the government, if they say things are fine....it probably means Shit is about to hit the fan)

THINGS I HOPE WILL SURPRISE ME:

Obama's Presidency. I am not a fan of the policies of the far left, the left, the middle left, and often times the middle. But i hold out hope Obama will see the errors of those policies, and put his trust in the American people to fix the problems that the country will face in the next four years.

The Celtics will lose less than 10 games this season. Even though I am huge fan of the Jordan era Chicago Bulls, I would love to see an NBA team with single digits in the loss column. Now, if only the NBA wants to see that too.

Another Undefeated Team in the NFL. The Patriots were so close in 2007. (Mad props to the NY Giants for spoiling it.) But I am tired of Don Shula(who I have great respect for as a coach) touting his opinion about who should or shouldn't be consider the best team in history.

A Viking Superbowl Victory. OK this is a long shot, considering how well the Eagles are playing of late. But i truly believe the talent on the Vikings matches up well with with any team in the league, now if only we could get a couch that has some enthusiasm.

A Lance Armstrong Victory. I am not picky, Tour de France or Giro d'Italia. A victory in either would cement him into the place of greatest cyclist ever.(if he isn't already there)

An Oscar for Heath Ledger as The Joker. If there is another actor out there nominated for best supporting actor that poured as much of their soul into the role, I have yet to see it.

THINGS I HOPE DO NOT SURPRISE ME:

A nuclear Iran.

A Joe Biden Presidency.

The Great Depression II.
