Palin For Vice President

I finally can feel comfortable, and even excited to say "I am voting for John McCain for president."

Once I heard the choice for his running mate would be Sarah Palin, I nearly jumped out of my pants, but being at work that wouldn't have been prudent. My single regret the names on this ticket are not reversed.

Congratulations Sarah!!

Everlast

Lonely Road

Too much time thinking about all of my mistakes
My heart, my mind, my soul, my body ache
A hunger for, the loving arms of your embrace
I walk along the lonely road

I walk along the lonely road
My back is strong, girl
I carry the load
All the grinding time I pay the debt that's owed
I walk along the lonely road

Too much time thinking about everything that went wrong
I cry my eyes out every time I hear your song
I hope this path brings me back where I belong
I walk along the lonely road

I walk along the lonely road
My back is strong, girl
I'll carry the load
All the grinding time I pay the debt that's owed
I walk along the lonely road

Too much pride, for me to up and take the blame
Deep inside girl it's killing me with pain
Every night, I sleep I call your name
I walk along the lonely road

I walk along the lonely road
My back is strong, girl
I'll carry the load
All the grinding time I pay the debt that's owed
I walk along the lonely road

I walk along the lonely road
My back is strong girl
I'll carry the load
All the grinding time I pay the debt that's owed
I walk along the lonely road
I walk along the lonely road
I walk along the lonely road

Maybe

Maybe you could take a lil' piece of my pain
Maybe you can make it all feel the same
Maybe you can burn this night in my brain
Maybe you can find someone else to blame
For all this pain…

Maybe

Maybe you could tell me about your worst fear
Don't say it out loud, whisper in my ear
Ain't never felt nothing' like this here
Maybe you can see things a lil' more clear
Dry away your tear

I love you are just three words that are overused when we're talking
Love and friendship, situations get confusing so often
Maybe I should give this woman my name…a piece of my pain

Maybe

Maybe we can talk about all my dreams
Watch them all come apart at the seams
Sometimes when it rains it really teems
Sometimes they cut diamonds with laser beams…..whatever that means

I love you are just three words that are overused when we're talking
Love and friendship, situations get confusing so often
Maybe I should give this woman my time…that would be fine

Maybe

I love you are just three words that are overused when we're talking
Love and friendship, situations get confusing so often
Maybe I should give this woman my name…a piece of my pain

Maybe

Angel

I'm gon' find me a woman that's real
I'm gon' find me a woman that's strong
I'm gon' find me a woman that's oh so true
I got a pedestal to put her on

I found me a girl, she's sweet as good be
And everything in her world revolved all around me
I had a chance to make her mine but I was too blind to see
And now I got to let her go and pray she comes back to me

She's my angel, she's my lover, she's my very best friend
I hate her cause I love her so I hurt her again
Don't want no other lover, won't go through it again
She's my angel, she's my lover, she's my very best friend

I'm gon' find me a woman that's young
I'm gon' find me a woman that's pretty
I'm gon' find me a woman that swears I'm the one
And I'm a try not to treat her shitty

Girl I been drinkin' ever since you've been gone
And I been thinkin' maybe that I was wrong
You been holdin' out for way too long
I get this feeling you don't wanna belong

She's my angel, she's my lover, she's my very best friend
I hate her cause I love her so I hurt her again
Don't want no other lover, won't go through it again
She's my angel, she's my lover, she's my very best friend

I'm gon' find me a woman that's tough
I'm gon' find me a woman that's loyal
I'm gon' find me a woman that say she got enough
And that's one I'm gonna spoil

Well I've been waitin' such a very long time
My heart's gon' break girl if I don't make you mine
What's past is past, what's done I cannot rewind
All said and done girl, so you're one of a kind

She's my angel, she's my lover, she's my very best friend
I hate her cause I love her so I hurt her again
Don't want no other lover, won't go through it again
She's my angel, she's my lover, she's my very best friend

She's my angel, she's my lover, she's my very best friend
I hate her cause I love her so I hurt her again
Don't want no other lover, won't go through it again
She's my angel, she's my lover, she's my very best friend

Cold-Hearted?

I guess i am cold-hearted.

Because I believe in the strength of the individual.

I believe if you don't allow people to suckle from the teat of the American government, they can and will find a way to survive.

I believe, if you don't tie their hands with imposing restrictions on how much they can make, or spend, they will not only survive but the will succeed and prosper beyond even their own imagination.

I believe in the compassion of the people and when they have succeeded, they will work hard to help others do the same.

I do not believe in guarenteed equal outcome, I believe, if you work hard and strive to be the best you will succeed. I believe, if you sit on your ass and do nothing you will achieve nothing.

I do not believe in mandated charity, through income redistribution. I believe Americans are charitable and left to their own devices they will help those in need. Although those that only believe they are need, may slip through the cracks and be forced to actually contribute to the betterment of society.

I do not believe in mandating that I pay for someone elses poor decisions, (It is hard enough for me to pay for my own). I do believe, that once i have overcome my own mistakes that i can prevent others from making the same mistakes, or to those that already have show a path to overcoming them.

I do believe in the greatness of individual achievement, the greatness of a community that has Individual achievers, and the greatness of this country because of Individuals that choose to stand on their own two feet and make something of themselves and this country as a whole.

A promise fulfilled and a another promise

In a previous blog I warned you readers of a telling of one of my incredibly bizarre dreams. Well that time has come.

Of late, meaning the last 6-9 months i have had the occaision of an extremely odd dream. This is the telling of one such dream.

In the span of two nights, yes I had a two part dream and that is the main reason this one is so strange. In this and any telling of a dream anything that appears in parenthesis is simple commentary and not part of the dream.

Part 1) I was pleasantly asked to join a friend on a secluded island. (The friend in question is unknown to me, and is never found out, i just know i was invited and i decided to accept) the trip to the island was uneventful, a simple helecopter ride to an island in the middle of some ocean or sea. The time there was unrememberable. (This is where I end part 1, simply cause i do not recall if anything happened)

Part 2) (Shortly after waking up, I could imagine i continued my dream last night but the similarities were amazing, but the world seem so drasticly different) The dream began with me running for cover as I was being shot at, by what appeared to be a park ranger. (He was in a tan uniform that looked official, but wasn't fatigue looking, more casual dress) I recognized the place as the island i was invited to previously but i was in fear and running for my life. I was beckoned by two very attractive women, piloting a helecopter, similar to the one that brought me to the place. as i dove aboard the helo, a bullet penetrated my leg. I did manage to escape. The lady pilot and co-pilot asked me why i was there, i tried to explain but couldn't quite come up with anything better than "I was invited." They quickly told me the Island was for living dead. and the person shooting at me was a patrol guard hired to kill any trespassers. The pain in my leg was unbearable and (thus woke me up, before i could ask them any more questions, like why did they feel it ok to pick me up)

there you go, analyze me. but do not judge. that is not the worst i have had.

In a few weeks i will start a chain of blogs that culminate on a special day. that is all i am going to say. when it begins, i challenge you to find the pattern and the end result. enjoy.

I stand corrected

The 100m Dash returns to the glory crowning not only the worlds fastest man of the year. but of all time. And possibly of times yet to come. Usain "Lightning" Bolt can literally only be compared to Mercury. He could have possibly went under 9.60.

In other Olympic news, Michael Phelps is amazing. 8 Gold medals in a single Olympics, 14 Gold medals all-time. Simply put, Amazing!!!

Go World

Nothing Much New

I didn't want to go to long without posting something.

Not a lot new here. Still watching the Olympics. Michael Phelps is amazing.

Some political news Al Franken loves this country, unfortunately he really doesn't understand what it took to make it great, or what it will take to keep it that way. Sorry Al, you will not be getting my vote.

Note to all politicians vieing for my vote. I have one test and one test only. Do you favor the Fair Tax Act? If you do, you have my support. For those that do not know or understand the Fair Tax Act, take the time to find out. It would create the largest shift of power from the federal government to the citizens of this country since its founding.

Olympic Games

I just started watching the Opening Ceremonies of the 2008 Olympic Games from Beijing.

It started me thinking about my favorite Olympic Moments. The first one that came time is, What i still consider the fastest i have ever seen a man run. The record that was set is testament to that.

At a blistering 23.15 MPH Michael Johnson ran faster than anyone in the history of record keeping including any record holder of the 100m Dash which only recently, and barely I might add, topped 23 MPH.

More Quotes to think about

The Truth of America's Greatness:

"America's abundance was created not by public sacrifices to 'the common good,' but by the productive genius of free men who pursued their own personal interests and the making of their own private fortunes. They did not starve the people to pay for America's industrialization. They gave the people better jobs, higher wages and cheaper goods with every new machine they invented, with every scientific discovery or technological advance -- and thus the whole country was moving forward and profiting, not suffering, every step of the way." [Ayn Rand]

This would be my platform, if I were to ever run for political office:

"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is "needed" before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents "interests, " I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can." [Barry Goldwater]

More Truth, this time not written about the United States, but the Athenian Republic:

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage."[Alexander Tyler]

Where does our oil come from?

I can understand(even if i don't 100% agree with) the pleas to remove ourselves from the use of fossil fuels. Unfortunately, we are several years, and possibly even decades from weaning ourselves off of these sources of energy.

That, being said, where exactly do we get our oil from? After doing a little research, I discovered a good chunk of the oil we use comes from highly unstable, not very environmental friendly, freedom hating parts of the world.

I would venture a guess, that if the USA would open up drilling in places that the oil companies know there is oil. We could do it far safer, for the environment and the workers. Any attempt by anyone to defend the ban on drilling the OCS or ANWR is ridiculous. The immediate effect of, any drilling, would be amazing. The simple notions the USA may use their own oil sends oil prices plummeting as other oil producing nations ready for the reduction in the US's oil purchases from them.

I don't drive, My gas in my new apartment is paid for, Why does this issue even concern me? If America is a living breathing entity, then gasoline is its lifeblood. Nothing you buy, rent, or do, is unaffected by high gas prices.
