Two consecutive months of increased unemployment. This is an interesting thing, certainly not a good thing.
I read a lot of information, but i do try to avoid the opinion laced news as often as possible, so I may have missed someone bring forth a connection here. So maybe some of my more avid reader, readers can enlighten me.
Has anyone tied the fact that this sudden upswing in unemployment corresponds so dramatically with the recent increase of the minimum wage.
It just seems too convenient to miss this. Companies need to cut spending (due to higher gas prices, yes the high gas prices effect every single item you buy) At the same time someone tells them they are going to increase their spending by forcing them to pay their employees a higher wage. Sounds to me, like a great time for layoffs.
And now there are some that also want to increase the financial burden of these businesses by Increasing their tax burden. I wonder how many jobs that is going to cost?
Is this not common sense? Or am i missing a bigger picture? I accept any revelations.
